President's Message #1

I'm reprinting the "President's Message" that I put in our guild newsletter here for your enjoyment.
*****************
Well, Summer is here and that either means our schedules get busier or slower, depending on your family. For me, summer mean more travel, more weekend barbeques, and more yard work. For many folks, that means less time doing our favorite past-time, quilting! I used to find it so hard to keep up with job and home and family and find time to quilt too.

A couple of years ago I made a New Year's resolution to spend 1 hour a day "quilting", whether it was folding fabric, cleaning my art space, reading a quilting book, or actually quilting. It was amazing how more "in touch" I felt with quilting by doing that just one hour a day. Sometimes that hour was during my lunch break, and sometimes to get away from the loud TV and noise of the household. Try it for a week and see how you like it, and be sure to tell me how it went!

OMG - you totally have to do the Japanese monsters type quilt pattern! I have a little boy (and his dad) in mind who will LLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE me for it! ;)

Yay, Madame President! I do wish I could get 1 hour a day, but I think I may try to spend at least 15 minutes a day clearing some space and getting my next quilt project set up. (Tho' at that rate I may take a month just to clear space ;o)
