The Domestic Diva Kit from hell

I was in JoAnn's shopping with some Christmas money when I spied one of these kits... It's an apron kit which is one large "cheater style" fabric in which you cut all of the pieces out and sew together.
Mine is not the one pictured above, with the chicken, but it's similar. Mine has strawberries and a light yellow checkerboard, and the bottom ruffle is all red.

What a nightmare to put together. The directions are "okay" because I know how to sew, but if this was my first ever project, forget it. It's got ruffles, bias edges that need to be turned under, the apron strings are tubes that need to be turned.... I should have serged every edge and then turned them under, but again... GAH!!! I didn't put the pockets on because I was DONE, after about 4 hours. AND I KNOW HOW TO SEW! Geez! I'd stay away from this one...

I couldn't agree with you more. I got the "I love coffee" one from Joann's it seemed like a good deal with the coordinated colors already all on one fabric panel. Somehow I lost the package picture and had to guess how to put the apron together.
the directions are horrible!

I'm guessing with mine and hoping for a good come out but it's not as easy as they make it sound

I love mine, Granted it took me two days to it, but that is with me going to school online, one special needs child and another that's well lets just 3 years old and leave it there.

I do agree that directions could be a lot more clearer, but I sewed mine with minial issues.

I just bought this at Joanne's thinking it would be an easy first time project. I'm trying to learn to sew. I read the directions and now I'm searching the web for help on making this. Nuff said there! Can you after any help and explain the directions with out the sewing terms?

I purchased the "Sophie" and I am having a hard time figuring out the flounce. I have been sewing for 45 years and this one has me stumped. If anyone has any suggestions how you get the flounce properly placed please post it for me. I think a few more marks to line up the various pieces would have been great. I can't see how a person with no sewing experience can do this kit.
