Did I mention how much I love living in Chicago?

Except the weather, Chicago is awesome. Well, even the weather isn't so bad. Snow is snow, and when you are used to it, it's ok. Baltimore, with the Bread-Milk-Toilet Paper snow emergencies always cracked me up. At least here the natives can drive in snow.

Except for today.

At my guild meeting, Robbi Joy Ecklow was our speaker. Robbi is a local speaker for us; she lives in the Chicago area. What should have taken Robbi about an hour or so, took several hours to drive to our guild to speak. And we sadly were missing quite a few people at our meeting due to the weather too. I am not feeling 100%, but I am happy I mustered up to go to the meeting. Her lecture was so funny and entertaining, and her quilts are stunning in person. Robbi said she left her house at 3pm and got to our meeting just after 8 pm. A Herculean effort, to say the least. I miss my Baltimore guild alot, but I also love living near so many creative forces in the quilting world here. This picture is near 10pm, about 50 minutes ago. Robbi was still full of energy at this point and I am soooo tired!

I'm so jealous; what a wonderful meeting that must have been! Glad you're all safe. And, as someone who grew up in Des Plaines, I have to agree that Chicago, and its surrounding suburbs, are a great place to live.

Ooh! That's a nice picture of me! I must be more photogenic after being stressed for a few hours. I have to remember that! Usually I look more like a troll.

Thanks for making the trip in the cold. That was so fun to meet you!

Love,
Robbi
